    Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

    We specialize in treating the whole person not just your symptoms. We utilize a holistic approach that includes multiple factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, exercise type/amount, sexual function, daily habits, and orthopedics. This allows us to find the root cause of your symptoms.

    Birth Preparation

    Helping moms-to-be and their support person prepare for labor. We will provide education on perineal massage and pelvic floor preparation for reduced tearing risk, pushing strategies, labor positions, pain management options, and early postpartum recovery.

    Orthopedics and Return to Fitness

    Our goal is to help modify your activity to keep you in the gym while moving towards your goals. We can help you continue participating in or return to CrossFit, HIIT, bootcamp, running, pilates, and yoga.

About Dr. Julie Pittman PT, DPT

Julie is a Pelvic Floor and Orthopedic Physical Therapist based in East Charlotte, NC. She specializes in treating pelvic floor dysfunction, orthopedic conditions, and providing rehabilitation during pregnancy and postpartum.

Julie’s approach to treatment combines hands-on manual therapy for pain relief with a strong focus on exercise and education. She believes in empowering her patients to take control of their health, helping them manage their symptoms and move beyond their physical limits to achieve greater independence and well-being.

  • No. North Carolina is a direct access state. This means that you can start Physical Therapy without a physician referral.

  • Evaluation: Review of your medical history and discussion of your current condition happens during both an orthopedic and pelvic floor evaluation.

    Assessment: A Pelvic floor evaluation or treatment session may include an internal or external pelvic floor assessment. This is completed in order to assess your pelvic floor musculature. It will only be completed with your verbal consent.

    Both orthopedic and pelvic floor evaluations/treatments will include a thorough assessment of involved joints, muscles, and affected movement patterns.

    You will leave your session with an understanding of your physical therapy diagnosis in addition to a plan of action moving forward. You will also be provided exercises to complete outside of PT.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that is easy for you to move in.

    If you are coming for hip/knee pain please wear or bring shorts with you to allow for easier evaluation/treatment. If you have specific questions please contact the clinic.
